Moves to impeach the Governor of Adamawa State may have hit the rock as thirteen of nineteen members the Adamawa state House of Assembly backed out following the intervention of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other APC leaders who intervene to weaken the move.

13 of the 19 lawmakers who initially signed the impeachment notice have indicated they will withdraw their signatures less than six days after 19 members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly issued an impeachment notice on Governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Barr. James Ngilari.

The decision by the lawmakers to withdraw their signatures, according to a source, was arrived after a meeting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Abuja.

“As I speak to you, I can confirm to you that 13 out of the 19 lawmakers who appended their signatures on the notice have written withdrawing their signatures. We may have more of them doing that on Monday if the trouble-shooting efforts of the top APC politicians in the state scale through, everything will be brought under control,” said the source.
