2 Kogites, 28 other Boxers in Camp for World Boxing Championship

Two Kogi State athletes, Adeniyi Korede and Ekek Dan Uloko, have been invited to the National Camp in preparation for the world Amateur Boxing Championship coming up in Kazakhstan next month.

Korede fighting in 69kgs category and Ekele 81kgs are among the 30 boxers in the country invited to the National camp for the world meets scheduled to hold in Kazakhstan between October 11th and 27th 2013.

SavidNews.com gathered that the boxers were selected for the camping based on their outstanding performances at the last National Sports festival Eko 2012 and the just concluded National Open Boxing men and women championship.

It would be recalled that Korede had won Gold medal in his category in Eko 2012 while Ekele won a Bronze medal.

Speaking on the coming, the National President of the Nigerian Boxing Federation (NBF) Gen. Keneth Mininia explained that for Boxers to perform optimally there was the need to have early preparation.

According to him, the Nigerian Boxing Federation would do everything possible to enable Boxers excel at the world tourney.

He urged all the states to invest in Boxing to enable them reap the glory at the championships.
