2013 Fed Cup: Nasarawa United can’t stop us – Salisu Yusuf
The Technical Adviser of Enyimba FC of Aba, Salisu Yusuf has told SavidNews that his team won’t leave any stone unturned enroute finals when they face Nasarawa United on Wednesday.
Salisu believes the Solid Miners of Nasarawa can’t stop the Peoples Elephant of Aba from picking their third Federation Cup trophy in history after last victory in 2009’s final against Sharks FC.
Salisu said that he was fully prepared for the Lafia based topflight counterparts, stating that the Al-Makura boys would targets pulling an upset against the six-time Nigeria Premier League champions.
The former Kano Pillars coach resounded confident in the quality of competition and winning mentality says, “Nasarawa United will play good football to shame us for revenge but we will sustain our tactical prowess and strength for secure the important victory.”
He added that, “we have been working hard as a team and improved in every game – so we are focused on taking every game as it come and won’t get lose focus on reclaiming the title that has eluded us for years.”
The two-time Federation Cup winner progressed to the stage with a convining 3-1 victory over fellow Nigeria Premier League club, Shooting Stars at the Area 3 stadium in Abuja.
Enyimba was in two of the last three finals but failed to lift the coveted trophy in 2010 and 2011 against Kaduna United 3-2 on penalties after 3-3 draw at fulltime and 0-1 loss to back-to-back defending champions, Heartland respectively.
