2014 FA Cup: Dolphins qualify for Rivers State Federation Cup semi finals

Dolphins recorded a 2-nil victory over Amateur side – Port Harcourt City FC in the quarter finals of the Rivers State F A Cup held at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt.Alhassane Dosso

Goals from Nazim Abutreka in the 40th minute and Sarkin Bolaji in the 56th minute of the game ensured that the Amateur side will play no further part in the competition.

Port Harcourt City had to play the last 20minutes of the game with ten men after Chinonso Lazarus was given a straight red card for a reckless challenge in the 70th minute.

After the game, returnee Ivorien midfielder, Alhassane Dosso who came in as a substitute said he really didn’t have much to do in the game.

“I came in as a substitute after the two goals had been scored and I really did not have much to do except to defend the goals,” Dosso said.

Dolphins next play Giwa FC in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) rescheduled week two match on Wednesday at the Liberation Stadium

Port Harcourt City FC’s coach, Zico said he was not disappointed with the result of the match acknowledging that he side lost to the better side wishing Dolphins luck in the later stages of the competition.

Dolphins presently lie in the 16th position in the league with 6 points from 5 matches.
