Malawi have named a 20-man squad for the second leg match of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria on September 7 in Calabar.

Malawi coach Tom Saintfiet named his squad for the World Cup qualifier against Nieria after he withdrew his demand for a $10 000 bonus if he masterminds a defeat of the Super Eagles.

Victory for the Flames would see them climb above Nigeria and book a place in the final round of qualifier.

Saintfiet had initially agreed to work for free, but to receive the amount should the Flames beat the Super Eagles. However, the news caused a stir in Malawi, with captain Joseph Kamwendo also weighing in, and forcing the Belgian to backtrack.

The coach dropped a number of players for disciplinary reasons.

Among the notable missing names from the 20-member squad are goalkeeper Simplex Nthala, midfielders Fisher Kondowe , Frank Banda and Young Chimodzi Junior and striker Gastin Simkonda.
