2014WCQ: We won’t underrate Ethiopia – Eagles’ John Ogu

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has told SavidNews.com that the African champions will not underrate the Wylas Antelopes in the final qualification battle for a place in Brazil 2014 World Cup.

The midfielder at the Portuguese top division club, Academica Ciombra in a chat with SavidNews.com promised Nigerians an exciting showing from the Super Eagles in the two-legged encounter.

He noted that he and his teammates will takes the play-off encounter against “a good team like” Ethiopia more seriously than the team’s previous round of matches.

According to John Ogu, “It’s going to be an exciting game because we know what is up for us – to come out victorious we (Super Eagles) need to give our all.”

The impressive Nigeria international who noted that the Super Eagles are aware of what is at stake to part of the World Cup next, stressed that he and his teammates needs to be at their very best to achieve success.

“This stage in playoff, we are not going to underrate them (Ethiopia) just as we have not underrated every other teams – Ethiopia is good team for them to have gotten to this stage,” said Nigerian star.

Nigeria was earlier on Monday pitched in qualification rumble with Ethiopia in the play-off round for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

The Stephen Keshi led Super Eagles will start-up their play-off round in Addis Ababa on October 11, 2013 before executing the last
leg in Nigeria on November 16, 2013.
