2015 Polls: God told me my husband, Jonathan will win –Patience Jonathan

Wife of the president, Mrs. Patience Dame Jonathan yesterday in Ilorin said the God that she serves has told her that her husband will win March 28 presidential election.

She was speaking at the Kwara State women rally in support of the second term bid of President Goodluck Jonathan saying the good achievement of the president was enough credential to make him win the election.

According to her: ‘’ The president had done so much to meet an age long aspirations of the Nigerian women to be relevant and given right of place in the affairs of the country.

She said it was no longer news that it the present administration of her husband that met the 35 percent representation of women in government.

“They were the ones who had once had the opportunity to be there as a Head of State, but made sure that women were never fit for a portfolio in their government let alone giving their wives the chance to float a project that could be to the advantage of the womenfolk and the children”.

“Now they want to come back and force the women from the digital age to analogue so that at the end, the lot of women would mean to go back the age of fetching firewood. Kwara State women should shine their eyes o, so that they don’t vote for them”, she added.

Speaking earlier, Minister of National Planning, Dr. Suleiman Abubakar, said the fund of the state from the federation account running into billions of naira for twelve years had not been utilised to the advantage of the people.

Suleiman said for instance, the same projects that the state is making a lot propaganda about were the same projects financed by the Federal Government while the money accruing to the state were not properly accounted for, saying; salaries of workers were not paid while local government monthly allocations were also not allowed to be judiciously used.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Senator Simeon Ajibola in his welcome address promised to effect a departure from the old order in the state which would mean giving to the citizens of the state what is due to them and cause a liberation for them.
