2016 Milo Basketball: Enugu, Ebonyi record good start in Atlantic Conference

The venue is the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium indoor sport hall in Enugu for the Atlantic Conference tickets of the 18th Nestlé Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship where the qualifying state in that zone are slogging it out.

The conference defending champions in the boys category, St Augustine seminary Ezemagbo, Ebonyi state starts their title defence with slim win against Belary Group of School Yenegoa,Bayelsa by 22-20 points in a tension soaked match.

Boys from Igwebuke Grammar Sch Awka,Anambra had to wait till last quarter of the match to over powered boys from Government secondary school Barracks, Cross River State by 20-19 points in a well balanced game.

In the Girls Cadre, The Anambra state flag-bearer,Emeka Agashili High school Nise, Anambra were a depleted side when they confronted Saint Jude Girl High Sch Amarata Bayelsa state, in a one sided affair game.

The Girls from Anambra struggled in all departments of the game and could not keep up with the pace and tenacity of Bayelsa girls power play with a convincing 43-01 points.

In another game, host Trans Ekulu Girls Secondary School, Enugu thrashed Emarid College Port Harcourt, River State by 20-11 points.

Speaking after the match, the Seminarians coach, said his boys enjoyed team work, discipline and accurate shooting.

“We play as a team my players had good understanding and always playing to instruction and our target is to grab the Atlantic ticket”.
