Soumou Serge from Congo Brazzaville will be the centre referee for Saturday’s Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture between Nigeria and Niger Republic at the Abuja National Stadium.
A statement on the website of the Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday indicated that Serge would be assisted by compatriots Bantaba Gislain (First Assistant) and DiawaTriton Audiard (Second Assistant).
Another of their compatriot, Nkounkou Oved, will also join as the Reserve Referee.
The Match Commissioner of the game billed to start at 4pm is Fred Crentsil from Ghana.
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets and the Junior Menas will clash in the first qualifying round for the 2017 Africa U17 Cup of Nations, with Saturday’s match as the first leg.
The return leg will be played in Niamey in a fortnight.
Already, the Nigerien contingent is in Nigeria, arriving at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Wednesday night and training on Thursday evening.
Nigeria are the reigning world champions, and the Eaglets have won the FIFA U-17 World Cup on five occasions.
Next year’s African finals will hold in Madagascar with the World Cup to be staged in India.
