2018 WCQ: Mahrez, Slimani tops 18 foreign pros Algeria list for Nigeria clash

Newly appointed Algeria coach George Leekens has invited 18 foreign professionals for their Russia 2018 World Cup Qualifying clash against Nigeria on November 12.

Les Fennecs attacking trio Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani and Croatia-based Hilal Soudani headline the list comprising of one goalkeeper, five defenders, nine midfielders and three strikers.

the Belgian offering Bordeaux teenage sensation Adam Ounas a chance to make his international debut against the Super Eagles after switching his allegiance from France to the North Africans.

Also included in the team are attacking midfielders Sofiane Feghouli and Yaccine Brahimi, Schalke 04’s Nabil Bentaleb and Faouzi Gholam.

To name his local players, Leekens wait for tonight’s Algerian Super Cup between rivals USM Alger and MC Alger before deciding on the five domestic-based players to join up with the squad.
