2023 Polls: Bola Tinubu is as healthy as other presidential candidates – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has denied what it termed false and misleading posts on various social media handles of people believed to be supporters of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, claiming that the APC’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was withdrawing from the race for health reasons.
Mr. Festus Keyamo, the council’s spokesperson, said in a statement yesterday that it was all a fiction of their twisted fantasies, asserting that Tinubu was robust, healthy, and fit enough for the upcoming campaigns.
“We also want to use this medium to dispel the erroneous and misleading statements on different social media accounts of Mr. Peter Obi supporters claiming that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is withdrawing from the race due to health concerns.”
“This is all a product of their warped imaginations.” Our candidate is physically and mentally strong enough for the upcoming campaigns. “The opposition will hear him loud and clear soon,” Keyamo added, lambasting Obi for reportedly disseminating a hate-filled film and recommending him to get out of the race if he has nothing more to say to Nigerians.
He said that the supposed communication, according to Obi, cautioned the Yoruba that voting for him would mean voting for a seaport in the South/South and South/East directions.
According to Keyamo, the alleged transcript from Obi read: “Yoruba shine your eyes o, if you vote for Peter Obi, you are automatically voting for seaports in the South-South and South East.” The Igbos would cease investing in Lagos State and instead travel to Delta and Rivers States; they may even stop building houses in Lagos. It will have a major impact on Yorubas. “Ronu o Yoruba.”
Keyamo, on the other hand, disputed the existence of such a group that created and distributed the message, pointing out that organisations supporting Tinubu and his running mate had clear designations with well-known promoters.
He stated that only communications disseminated by the APC Presidential Campaign Council were legally authorised and will be held accountable by the council.
As a result, he challenged Obi to disclose the source and name(s) behind the mysterious WhatsApp message.
