2024 Africa Military Games: Nigeria claim bronze in men’s football
Nigeria’s men’s football team at the 2024 Africa Military Games won their bronze medal match in Abuja on Saturday.
The host thrashed Equatorial Guinea 4-0 to win the bronze medal game.
They had lost the semi-final match 1-0 to Algeria after extra time.
Four teams registered for men’s football at the 2024 Africa Military Games.
They include host, Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon, and Equatorial Guinea.
Algeria pipped Cameroon to win the gold medal.
Meanwhile, Nigeria maintained its leadership position on the medals table.
With 73 medals, Nigeria tops the table with 37 gold, 21 silver, and 15 bronze medals, ahead of Algeria with 20 gold, three silver, and three bronze medals.
