24hrs to Match-Day, NWFL re-schedules Last Ties to Aug 4th

The Nigeria Women Football League on Friday rescheduled the last 2012/2013 season matches with less than 24 hours to the final matches kick-off time to August, 4th, 2013.

The development was confirmed by the Secretary to the NWFL Board, Ajisafe to SavidNews Nigeria on Friday afternoon.

According the Mr Ajisafe, the sudden postponement was owned to issued complains from teams which have compelled the NWFL Board to call-off the final-matches billed for Saturday, July 28.

Mr Ajisafe further explained that the travelling difficulties and playing challenges to experienced by clubs still involved in the Federation Cup has forced the board to consider moving forward the matches.

He added that the board is poise to settle all internal wrangling before the final matches will be played.

“The board has agree to move the final league matches to August 4th -we had to take the decision despite late to avert crisis – because still have some couple of complains and pending complains and unresolved appeals pressed us to rescheduling the matches.”

“We are also received some complains from teams playing in the Federation Cup over a jam packed fixtures and travelling headaches,” explained the Women Football League scribe.

SavidNews understands that the late decision by the Board was agreed on Friday morning, with news gathering much dust of complains from various centres where visiting clubs have arrived their match venues.

The league’s final match earlier billed for Saturday 28th July has now been moved to August 4th after initially expected to have been played on July 21st, 2013.
