Adama Backs Kogi-born Ayegba on Falcons Recall

The Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens, Mallam Abdul Adama has saluted the feat recorded by goalkeeper, Rachel Ayegba in Europe and backs the former international’s recall to the Super Falcons.

Mallam Adama believes the fantastic performance of the Kogi-born goalkeeper in goal deserves a recall to the senior women national team, noting that the Finland-based star has capacity to solve the country goalkeeping problems.

The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the Media Assistant to Mallam Abdul Adama yesterday.

He however noted that the breakthrough of the Pk-35 shot stopper should inspire other female players in the domestic league to succeed if they maintain focus and remain disciplined.“I must commend the exploits of Rachel Ayegba in Finland and call on the National female team handlers to consider her for call-up”, Adama said.

“We in Kogi State are proud of her. She has proved herself in as a good ambassador of the state.“

On behalf of sport-loving Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada and the good people of Kogi State, I enjoin the player to sustain the good performance and continue to do the state and country proud. I encourage others to tread in her path,” the elated Kogi-born football administrator said.

Rachael Aladi Ayegba, 27 years old, who presently ply her trade with PK-35 Football Club has continued to impress for the club making headlines in Finland with her spectacular show which led her club to Finish Cup glory after they defeated finalists, HJK 2-0 in the finals late in September,2013.
