Adamawa Assembly Speaker Sworn In As Ag Gov

The Speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly, Umaru Fintiri, has been sworn in as the Acting Governor of the State, following the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako.

The impeachment of Nyako, was sequel to the adoption of the four volumes report presented by Kaigama, the chairman of the seven-man panel that investigated allegations of gross misconduct levelled against him and his Deputy, Bala Ngilari.

However, Ngilari, had earlier in the day resigned from office as deputy governor, citing personal reasons.

Nyako and his deputy were found guilty of the 16 allegations of gross misconduct levelled against them.

Consequently, Jerry Kumdisi, moved for the impeachment of the governor and was seconded by Kwamoti Laori.
