A federal high court judge in Abuja has sacked Adamawa State Acting Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, and has ordered for the immediate reinstatement of former Deputy Governor, Bala Ngilari.
The judge made the decision on grounds that Ngilari did not resign from office, in accordance with the constitution, The Nation reports.
As a result, Finitiri’s position as acting governor has been declared illegal.
The court ruling also stipulated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should not conduct the bye-election scheduled for Saturday, October 11th.
