Adamawa News: NDE Trains 150,000 in Skills Acquisition

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), has trained about 150, 000 persons in various skills programme in Adamawa state as part of the efforts to reduce unemployment.

The Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed, made the disclosure Monday in Yola, at the flag-off of the Strategic Empowerment Scheme.

Mohammed who was represented by the Adamawa coordinator of NDE, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu , said 45,000 of the beneficiaries were trained in Rural Agricultural Training Scheme (RATS) and Rural Handicraft Scheme (RHS).

He noted that over 100,000 were trained on skills acquisition in vocational and technical trades such as fashion designing, carpentry, tailoring, auto mechanic, hair dressing, electrical installation, among others.
