After 9-Month,Taraba’s Suntai Returns to Nigeria Saturday from US

Governor Danbaba Suntai of Taraba State is expected to return home this Saturday, August 25 after over nine months in different countries for medical over his involvement in a plane crash last year.

The ailing Governor will depart the Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation Centre and Home located in New York for Nigeria next weekend after having spent some months at the rehabilitation centre, following the injury he sustained after his aircraft crashed in Adamawa while attempting to land. The incident occurred in October last year.

According to the Governor’s wife, Hauwa Danbaba Suntai, all arrangement had been made for the return of the governor.

While thanking all those who had in one way or the other supported the family throughout their trying moment, she said the preparations were on top gears for the grand return of her husband.

It was learnt that some Nigerians in New York have volunteered to accompany the governor back home.

DailyPost recalled that members of the PDP Fact-finding Committee on the Taraba political situation, led by its chairman, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, had on August 3, paid a solidarity visit to the bedridden Suntai in the United States.

He was accompanied by the Special Adviser to the PDP National Chairman on INEC and Inter-party Affairs, Alhaji Shittu Mohammed, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, Sen. Abubakar Gada and the Consul-General of Nigeria in New York, Amb. Habib Habu.
