Amaechi Warned APC Leadership Against Wike – Okocha

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, has revealed that the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has warned the party leadership against inviting the Minister of the FCT to any party activities.

Okocha made this disclosure during a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, stating that the former Governor has remained incommunicado since he completed his law school.

According to Okocha, “You will recall that at some point he got into law school and from the one year in law school, he became incommunicado. You are also aware that at some point after the Presidential primary election, he also decided to disappear into thin air.”

Okocha further added that Amaechi had sent a message to the Secretary of the party, warning him “that he should never dare to send him a message about the party again.” Okocha questioned whether the party should go to Amaechi’s house and “pack him” if he is still a party member.

The APC Caretaker Committee Chairman also addressed the insinuation that the loyalty of the party’s leadership is to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), describing the claim as “laughable.”

Amaechi’s apparent withdrawal from the party’s activities and his warning to the leadership against inviting him to party events have raised questions about his current standing within the APC. The former Minister’s absence and his reported communication to the party’s officials suggest a rift or disagreement between Amaechi and the party’s leadership in Rivers State.

The development highlights the complex political dynamics within the APC, particularly in the Rivers State chapter, where Amaechi had previously held a prominent position as a former Governor and a key figure in the party’s affairs. The party’s leadership will need to navigate these challenges and find a way to accommodate Amaechi’s concerns and maintain unity within the party’s ranks in the state.
