The elective General Assembly of the Benin Football Federation held on Friday, 10 June 2016 elected Anjorin Moucharafou as president.
CAF President Issa Hayatou has on behalf of the CAF Executive Committee welcomed the decision and describing it lucky.
Consequently, FIFA has lifted the suspension of Benin and the AFCON 2017 qualifier between Benin and Equatorial Guinea scheduled for Sunday, 12 June 2016 in Cotonou will take place accordingly.
