Ansarudeen face St Luke in maiden Kogi FA U13 Cup final

Ansarudeen Primary School, Lokoja will slug it out with Saint Luke Primary School, Lokoja in the maiden edition of Kogi state FA U-13 Cup final scheduled to hold at the Kogi Confluence Stadium on Friday, May 15, 2015.

Ansarudeen who advanced after a 2-0 semi-final win over Baptist Primary School played at the Lokoja Township stadium on Tuesday. They earlier humbled Grace International 3-0 in the first round.

While second-finalist Saint Luke progressed following 4-0 semi-final thrash of Saint Mary Primary School. They also edged out Holy Trinity to make the semis.

The first ever age-grade football competition in Kogi, which is organised by the recent-elected Alhaji Umarr Sulieman Isah led Kogi Football Assocition in collaboration with the state chapter of the National School Sports Federation.

Primary Schools that participated in the maiden kids championship are Holy Trinity, Saint Luke, Ansarudeen, Grace International, Baptist and Saint Mary – all based in Lokoja.

The six-team knockout football competition which was sponsored by the state Board of Internal Revenue attracted at least 108 pupils from the state capital, Lokoja.

Winner of the final will represent the state at the national finals of the Channels Kids Cup in Lagos.
