Rising from a meeting at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, National President, John Odigie-Oyegun, told newsmen that the decision to hold fresh primary was taken after the party received a letter from INEC to replace Audu.
Audu died on Sunday, a day after he won the governorship race even though the margin was not sufficient enough to declare him winner hence, the call for supplementary election by INEC as polls was declared inconclusive.
The INEC on Tuesday said APC would be allowed to field a replacement for late Audu for the completion of the election.
