Ardova Handball Premier League 2024 Day 3 Wrap: Rivers Queens earn comeback win, Bendel Dynamos seal first victory

Rivers Queens thrilled fans with a dramatic comeback victory over the experienced Imo Grasshoppers on day 3 of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2024, ongoing in Benin City, Edo State.

The Port Harcourt-based team, who recently earned promotion to the top-tier league after winning the National Division One title in the women’s category, overturned a 17-14 first-half deficit to secure a 33-29 win, marking their first victory in the Premier League.

In other women’s category matches, Defender Babes edged out Plateau Peacocks with a 28-20 win, while defending champions Safety Babes continued their winning streak, defeating Seasider Babes of Lagos 33-23.

Rima Queens dominated COAS Babes with a convincing 34-21 victory, and Bendel Dynamos left it late to triumph over Delta Queens with a narrow 23-22 win.

In the men’s category, Kano Pillars’ struggles persisted as they lost to defending champions Niger United 21-18.

Rima Strikers had a tough match but managed to eke out a 33-32 win over Correction Boys. De Defenders earned a solid 36-28 victory over Adamawa Warriors, and Seasider Boys of Lagos defeated Sunshine Kings 31-22.
