Reigning African women footballer of the year, Asisat Oshoala has given reasons why she donated a new branded 18-seater bus to her Nigerian youth club, FC Robo.

Oshoala who currently plies her trade in China with Dalian Quanjian where she has scored six goals this season said, the bus was a birthday gift to its chairman Emmanuel Osahon, who she described as a good man.

The 2015 BBC Player of the Year winner, said she was moved by the club’s traumatic experience had due to some technical faults to the vehicles on the road to execute their women’s top-flight matches.

“It’s my own little way of appreciating the team and it saddens me when I see them struggling to go for matches because they don’t have a team bus,” Oshoala told SavidNews.com.

“I’m glad I was able to make them smile as it was a surprise. I’m happy this ease their road troubles and help their mobility.

“As for Osahon, he deserves it. He’s a really good man who doesn’t joke with his players. I love them.”
