Aspiring Senator, Dino Malaye tasks Iyara Indigenes on Community Development

Former House of Representatives Member and Senatorial Aspirant to represent Kogi West Senatorial District at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), Otunba Dino Malaye has charged indigenes of Iyara community, the Headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State North Central of Nigeria to continue to work hard and contribute their quota to the overall development of the community.

The former lawmaker who was the chairman of the occasion made this plead at this year’s Iyara Day Celebration held at the community town hall in Iyara.

According to him, the development of the community should be the priority of all sons and daughters of the community, noting that it is not Godly for a well to do indigene to desert his community when he is most needed.

Otunba Malaye said he is most honoured to be called upon to chairman the occasion, praying that God will bless the community with prominent people that would remember them for good.

According to him, he is optimistic that his party, All Progressive Congress (APC) will win the Osun election, noting that the party is waxing stronger in Kogi State.

Meanwhile, the immediate past Director General of National Mathematical Centre, Abuja, Professor Sam Ale, who is also from the community commended the current executive of Iyara Development Movement (IDM) for their commitment and determination in moving the community forward.

He charged youths in Okunland especially those of them from Iyara community to take maximum advantage of the National Open University Centre in Iyara to acquire more knowledge in any area of endeavors, added that the centre is the least patronized centre out the fifty three centres across the country.

Commending the attendance of this year’s program, the National President of Iyara Development Movement (IDM), Dr. Gideon Dada said the caliber of men that graced this year’s occasion shows that there peace, unity and tranquility in the community.

He promised to make judicious use of the money raised from the program, noting that the completion of the mini dam, replacement of some damaged pipes for the community to access portable water were top priority projects.

Meanwhile, Senator Smart Adeyemi, CON who is an indigene of Iyara was conspicuously absent.

Present at the occasion includes, Mrs Tokunbo Awoniyi, the Wife of Kogi State Deputy Governor, former commissioners, APC Chairman, Kogi State, traditional rulers across Ijumu land etc.
