Association of Okun Students hold Leadership Workshop in Lokoja

The National Association of the Okun Students, NAOS, yesterday organized a leadership workshop for its members in the State.
The workshop which was conducted by the Senate President of the organization, Mr. Micheal Obanibi was held in Kabba, Kogi State, with the Theme: “Repositioning Okun Youth Towards The enthronement of Good Leadership.
The guest Speaker for the occasion, Comrade Banji Aiyelabowo enjoined the youth to see themselves as a future leaders of the country, and positioned themselves while still in school for any leadership position in the country.
According to him, “The era of only thinking about job after school is gone. As youths, we must see that we partake in decision making that affect the society.”
Ayelabowo also urged them to get involved in governance of their area and not leave government to politicians alone.
Earlier, the Senate President said the workshop became imperative in view of the next year general election where politicians will only use the youth and dumped them after getting their aim.
He said the workshop will encourage the youths to see beyond the monetary value that may be shared, for the election by the political class; rather, they should go for good leaders that will reposition the country.
The occasion was also used to present award to some personality who have distinguished themselves in their professional field.
