President Muhammadu Buhari is now meeting with certain members of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Federal Government-owned universities.
The meeting, which is being held in the State House in Abuja, may be related to the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) ongoing strike on February 14.
This was revealed in a post on Bashir Ahmed’s official social media accounts by the Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications.
He wrote, “President Muhammadu Buhari is now having a meeting at the State House in Abuja with a select group of the pro-chancellors of the federal universities.”
According to Savid News, the Federal Government had taken the union to the National Industrial Court following multiple failed attempts to resolve disagreements with university lecturers.
The case was postponed for a decision by Justice Polycap Hamman on Friday until Monday, September 19.
