Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham scored for Los Blancos in their 3-0 La Liga victory over Cadiz on Sunday. The England international’s goal saw him surpass Cristiano Ronaldo’s record after netting his 14th in 15 appearances since joining from Borussia Dortmund for £88.5m.
Bellingham becomes the only player in Real Madrid history to find the net more than 13 times in their first 15 games. When Ronaldo moved from Manchester United in 2009, he scored 13 goals in his opening 15 outings which equaled a club record.
However, the 19-year-old’s goalscoring form since arriving in Spain has propelled him ahead of other legendary Madridistas like Ferenc Puskas and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Bellingham continues to impress with both goals and performances as he settles into life at the Bernabeu under Carlo Ancelotti.
