Bordeaux dashes Enyeama record in Ligue 1

vicent enyeamaSuper Eagles number one goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, was finally beaten over the weekend in Ligue 1, as his club Lille were defeated 1-0 at Bordeaux.

Landry N’Guemo scored the decisive goal in the 27th minute of the match, as the hosts grabbed all three points and ended Enyeama’s impressive run of 11 consecutive clean sheets.

In total, the 31-year-old keeper was unbeaten for 1,063 consecutive minutes and is only behind Gaetan Huard in Ligue 1 record.

Huard’s 20-year-old record stands at 1,176 and incidentally, he set it while playing for Bordeaux in the 90s.

Enyeama has so far kept 14 clean sheets in the 17 games played so far.
