Substituted Sibi Gwar scored twice to ensure Enyimba of Nigeria secured an incredible 3-1 comeback victory against Anges De Notse of Togo in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round in Aba on Sunday.

The Peoples’ Elephants who ended the first half broken hearted as they trail visitors 1-0, but late successive combined superlative goals of Sibi Gwar and Kindlsey Sokari kept their hopes of playing in the next round of the competition alive.

Interestingly, it was Anges de Noste forward, Vincent Orode Tchalla, a Nigerian-born Togolese striker who played previously current Nigeria second tier club Jigawa Golden Stars that broken the heart of the fans after he fired home a vital away goal for the visitors in to 40th minutes.

Courageously, the two-time continental champions led by victory-hungry Zakare Baraje tactically showed his expertise after bringing on the winning goal poacher in Sibi Gwar for Ifeanyi Ede who came close with a header of Markson Ojobo’s cross before the break.

However, Sibi Gwar secured the equalizer in the 82nd before Kingsley Sokari stormed the Nigeria continental campaigner in front, followed by a late banger from Sibi Gwar in added time to erupt songs in the stadium at regulation time.

In the meantime, Enyimba will travel for Togo with a 3-1 advantage lead against Anges De Notse for the return leg on 16th February.
