The Most Valuable Player of the 2014 African Nations Championship was recalled to replace Elderson Echiejile who was ruled out of the competition following his injury in the international friendly against Greece on June 7.

Rangers management had threatened not to let the player leave for the World Cup following the Nigeria Football Federation inability to write to them formally.

Foster Chime the media officer of the Coal City giants told media that the player was granted permission because of national interest.

“We have allowed him to go after much persuasion,” Chime has said.

“He left on Tuesday and we can’t hold on to him because of national interest. Our country is bigger than any individual or group.

“He has gone to join his Eagles colleagues and we wish him the very best in Brazil,” he concluded.

The former Rennes of France player departed for Brazil on Tuesday evening at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja in Lagos.

With this development, Keshi boasts of four local league players in his fold.
