Chris Giwa resumes as new Nigeria Football Federation President

Newly elected President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Chris Giwa after defeating former Vice President Mike Umeh assumed duty at the NFF Secretariat on Wednesday.

Giwa who won the election organised by the Biambo’s Electoral Committee in a Congress held at the Chida Hotel, Abuja to meet with the staff of the Federation.

Other members of the newly installed 11-man Executive board who resumed alongside Giwa includes Obinna Ogba, Effiom Johnson, Felix Obuah, Kogi State FA Chairman Yahaya Adama.

In a brief media address at the Glass House at his assumption of office on Wednesday, the properitor of Nigeria Professional Football League club, Giwa FC promised to “work in harmony as well begin reconciliatory move with aggrieved factions in the nation’s football family to move the game forward”.

The Jos-based football Administrator further refuted claims of annulment of his election by the Football Association’s chairmen, insisting the election that brought him onboard was “free, fair and supervised by the Nigeria’s Sports Ministry”.

Meanwhile, the new President has announced his administration’s immediate plans to relocate to it’s new secretariat located inside the National Stadium, Abuja.

“We will begin moves to relocate to our permanent site in soonest. Aside the [fire] incidence which took place at the Glass House – it’s my desire as soon as i asume office to ensure the Federation moves to its permanent site,” Giwa told media.
