COREN absolved members of blame in the Synagogue carnage, saying no engineer has so far been fingered in the Synagogue Church building collapse.

President of COREN, Engr. Kashim Ali said he has requested for the outcome of preliminary investigation into the mishap.

He called for action against anyone found negligent saying government cannot continue to handle matters with levity.

He said, “The failures for our infrastructure has disciplinary panels as engineers involved but nobody has been brought, Is it’s purely out of criminality.

“Our collapses has been due to criminality and they should be treated as such. As a matter of fact, as president COREN, I have advocated for death penalty for whoever is responsible for the death of people resulting from collapse, because we have no reason for collapses.

“We are not responsible and I want anybody to tell me one engineer that has been found responsible in any of these collapsed houses.

“I have been involved in the investigation of collapsed houses and each time we have found out that there was no engineer involved and I would say why and they would say it is too expensive to engage an engineer, but what
is the cost of building collapsing and killing people and you have to rebuild?”
