Cricket: Nigeria record second lose to Guernsey, face Vauatu to retain Div 5 status

Nigeria ‘s quest to play in the ICC world league division 4 in Los Angeles, USA in November this year suffered a setback Tuesday afternoon as the YELLOW GREEN team lost their second game to Guernsey.

Nigeria who won the toss and elected to bat first scored 99 runs all out in 34 overs.

However, Guernsey batted second and scored 100 runs for the loss of no wickets in the 14th overs.
Guernsey won the game by 10 wickets.

Nigeria Yellow Green had on Sunday lost to Oman in their second game after beating Tanzania in the opening game at Farmer’s cricket ground.

The country representative will on Wednesday confront Vanuatu in its bid to remain in the division 5, failure of which Nigeria will be demoted to the region that is non division.

President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation Emeka Onyeama who described the outing as disappointing and disheartening, said the team was given all necessary support and assistance during the preparation for this competition.

Emeka, who looked dejected after the match said the team will undergo surgical operation as new players will be injected while some of those who lack ability to excel might give ways.
