The former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki, a Colonel on Monday pleaded with the Federal High Court Abuja, to allow him travel out of the country for a three weeks medical treatment.

Colonel Dasuki through his counsel, Mr Joseph Daudu, applied for permission to access his travel documents, which had been deposited with the Deputy Registrar of the court in order to attend to an urgent medical issues.

Opposing the application, the Director of Public Prosecution, Mohammed Diri, urged the court to reject Dasuki’s application, insisting the former NSA is facing trail for charges of money laundering.

Diri told the court that granting the application of Colonel Dasuki would amount to granting him bail without any condition, noting that the held former NSA’s travel document was the initial condition of granting him bail.

Colonel Dasuki is standing trial on a five-count charge of possession of illegal fire arms and money laundering as well as accused of being in possession of $150, 000 and over 37 million Naira in his residence in Sokoto.

Last week, the federal government filed four more charges against the former National Security Adviser, after his arraignment on a one-count charge of unlawful possession of firearms without license.

But Dasuki had since denied the charges put up against him.
