Nigeria international Desire Oparanozie was on target as her French side Guingamp reached the last 16 after thrashing Brest 4-2 in the Coupe de France match on Sunday.

The four-time African title winner who inspired the Super Falcons to her record eighth continental title netted her fifth goal in nine appearances for the coach Sarah M’Barek side at the Stade Fred Aubert.

Morocco international Salma Amani opened the scoring for Guingamp in the 10th minute before Faustina Robert doubled the lead minutes later.

However, Solenne Ninot reduced the tally for the visitors in the 19th minute but Brestois’ celebrations were short-lived as Oparanozie converted from the spot in the 24th minute to score Guingamp’s third.

Luce Ndolo Ewele made it 4-1 at the start of the second half to pretty much seal the win.

A superb solo effort by Elodie Leon saw Brestois score their second of the match seven minutes to time but Guingamp held on to their lead to sail to the Last 16.
