A top Dutch club, FC Twente are set to table an offer for want-away Gbenga Arokoyo, according to a report on its official website.
Arokoyo has a contract with modest Swedish club Mjallby AIF till November 2014, but he has formally requested to quit the club.
Swedish newspaper Klacksparken said Twente have the most concrete offer for the Nigeria defender as they are shopping to buy another central defender.
Incidentally, ex-Kwara United star Arokoyo has tried out at Twente two years ago, but was not given a contract.
Mjallby official Jorgen Martinsson said: “We can say that he should stay because he has a contract with us. But he’s been pretty clear to us. If a club come, we will listen and see what is best for him and the club.”
The tall, 21-year-old defender, who has represented Nigeria at U20 and ‘B’ international levels, has played a total of 36 times for Mjallby.
He has thus far interested clubs in Sweden and France.
