Eagles Striker, Shola Ameobi Admits goals frustration

Newcastle United and Super Eagles striker, Shola Ameobi, has admitted that he’s desperate to break his league scoring duck, and find the net for the Magpies.

Ameobi has been in goal-scoring for the Eagles, and has been in great form for Toon, but still battling to find a goal in the Premiership.

“When was my last league goal? God knows, it’s so long ago, I have forgotten, said the man who netted against Italy in an international friendly in November.

“It’s something I’m trying not to think about. But obviously I’m frustrated. I’m playing well enough but not scoring goals and that’s something I need to work on.

“The team comes first and we’re winning games, but on a personal level, I have to break that duck and hopefully I’ll do that soon.”

Ameobi spent most of last season on the bench, and has only recently re established himself in Newcastle United’s first team.
