EDO: Oshiomhole urges Muslims to pray for peace, prosperity

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has urged the Muslim faithful in the state to pray for the continued peace and prosperity of the state as they undertake the Ramadan fast.

In his Ramadan message to the Muslim Ummah, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, Comrade Oshiomhole said “as the faithful undertake personal restitution, piety and renewed commitment to Allah, they should also remember the poor and needy in the society.”

Comrade Oshiomhole urged the Muslim Ummah to use the opportunity afforded by the sacred month to deeply reflect on the core principle of Islam while promoting its core message, as a religion of peace, love, tolerance and forgiveness.

The Governor acknowledged that the Muslim faithful have contributed immensely, in all sectors, to the growth and development of the state, saying government appreciates their contributions.

He assured the Ummah of the state Government’s commitment to ensuring that development gets to every nook and cranny of the state.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s gratitude to the Muslim Community for their support and prayers and for sustaining cordial and harmonious relationship with people of other faith in the state.

He assured that the state government is committed to the sustenance of this peaceful co-existence as development can only be attained under a peaceful atmosphere. The Governor wished the faithful a blessed and joyful Ramadan Kareem.
