Ekiti FA Board: Court dismisses case against Olanlege, and five board members

The Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti struck out the case against the Ekiti State Football Association Chairman, Mr Bayo Olanlege and five board members on Thursday 16th June, 2022.

The court through Magistrate Olaolorun struck out the case for want of diligent prosecution.

Recall that on the 15th of July 2021, Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye committed the six Ekiti FA members to two weeks imprisonment without the option of fine for disobeying the order of court made on April 18, 2019.

The board members were released after 24 hours after the counsel to Ekiti FA Barrister Femi Familusi was able to convince the court that the committal order was made in error because there was no contempt committed by the respondents.

The plaintiffs, Segun Adelakun, Olu Ikusemori and Ajayi Lanre took the six persons, five of which are serving on the board of Ekiti FA presently, to court since 2019 just before their involvement in an election that was duly supervised by the Nigeria Football Federation.
