ne of the beneficiaries of the Federal Government Amnesty deal and ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo known as Tompolo has donated drugs worth millions of naira to four government hospitals in Delta State.
The gesture is to complement the governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan’s effort in offering free maternal and childcare services.
The drugs include 50 cartons of paracetamol, 50 cartons of Multivitamins, 50 cartons of vitamin C, 50 cartons of Nomalin cough syrup, 50 cartons of B complex and 65 pieces of bed sheets.
The Executive secretary of the Tompolo Foundation, Comrade Paul Bebenimibo, who handed out the donations said that the organisation will reach out to more hospitals and also pledged that the foundation will train 50 Science teachers in the college of Education to meet educational needs of children in the riverine areas of the state.
Giving his vote of thanks, the Chief Medical Director of the General Hospital, Ekpan, Dr Vincent, who received the drugs said, “on behalf of the state government and health ministry, we say a very big thank you for this uncommon gesture and remembering the children. These drugs will go a long way in assisting us; we will put them to effective use.”
The four hospitals that benefited from the gesture are General Hospitals in Ekpan Warri, Ogbe-Ijoh and Ugbokodo Primary Health Care centre.
