Grace Soje, the wife of Edward, a director with the Kogi State civil service, who committed suicide, is yet to know of her husband’s demise, SavidNews can authoritatively report.

Contrary to social media reports that Mrs Soje is aware her husband committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree close to the Maigumeri barracks of the Nigeria army, in the state capital, Lokoja.

According to Police reports, the 54-year-old took his life some 10 days after his wife of 17 years gave birth to a set of male triplets in a private hospital in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Mr Alfred Amode, a family member has told SavidNews that they shelved plans to inform Mrs. Soje about her husband’s demise due to her poor health condition.

Amode, a brother of Grace Soje said she is in the hospital and that the family had initially agreed to inform her about the news of her husband’s death but the doctor advised them against it.

“She [Mrs. Soje] is currently not in good health condition and the doctor told us she has high blood pressure, so it will be inappropriate telling her about it.

“We have decided to patiently wait till the right time when her health improves to tell her. We already have removed the battery to her phone to stop her from receiving calls.”

Until Soje’s death, he had been childless and also a grade level 16 officer with the Kogi state teaching service commission, being owed 11 months’ salary arrears.
