Peter-Dedevbo

Falconets head coach, Peter Dedevbo said his team gave away the ball too easily which paved the way for their opponent dictating the pace of the game.

Dedevbo added that the match has afforded him another opportunity to look closer at the girls.

He further hinted that the second match will be a different ball game, and that the Falconets must win it.

“These girls played as if they had nothing was at stake, I am disappointed with the way they played. I cannot tolerate this in the next match.

“The Ghanaian side is good, I must confess and this showed in the way they played. We can not put up this kind of display at the world cup, that is why such games afford us the opportunity to correct our lapses”. Dedevbo noted.

“On the next match we must improve on our performance, the girls must understand the rivalry that exist between Ghana and Nigeria and they must show me more reasons why l should take them to Canada because if they are to fly the flag of Nigeria in Canada then they must up their game”.

Meanwhile, team captain Patience Okaeme after the match said the team did not do enough to win the match, she assured that the next match will be a different kettle of fish entirely.

“I agree that we did not play well, that is why it is good that such games are organised to put us in the right frame of mind and I can assure you that in our next match on Sunday against Ghana we shall show them the stuff we are made,” Okaeme said,

The Falconets had won their first match against the Ghanians 2-1 in Accra and were beaten 0-1 in the second game.

The last friendly will be played on Sunday 29th May at the FIFA Goal project pitch by 4pm.
