Aggrieved Honorable James Feleke’s Ijumu Local Government Area’s Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Honorable Taufiq Isa has pledged loyalty to Kogi governor-elect, Yahaya Bello.

In a statement, the Ijumu LG party chapter boss urged INEC recognized Kogi deputy governor elect, Honorable Faleke embrace peace in resolving the current political crisis in the interest of Okun people.

He lamented the increasing divide caused by greedy politicians in fueling the current political crisis among the Okun nation, urging the various individuals to retrace their steps back in the interest of moving the state forward.

“I HON TAUFIQ A ISA, wish to thank the entire APC membership in Kogi state for the support so far given to the party before, during and after the death of Alh. Abubakar Audu (May his soul rest in peace),” the statement read.

“I want to appeal to the entire APC membership in Kogi state to wake up, stand up and protect the interest of the party at this very crucial period against the pursuit of some people because of their personal wicked parochial selfish interest to trade off our party mandate,” the statement read.

“We must come together to salvage this mandate of Alh Yahaya Bello, for the benefit of the party and the entire people of Kogi state so as to move Kogi forward. It must be made known that some group of politicians have capitalized on this present crisis to enrich themselves and garner cheap popularity on the premise of representing the Okun people yet exploited almost all the aspirant and leader of the party during and after the primary election of the APC which has become their stock in trade.

“I hereby appeal to Okun people not to allow these few political prostitutes to trade away our mandate. I have consulted some party leaders in Okun and some highly placed individuals to be courageous and come out and resolve the Hon. Faleke issue amicably; but all my efforts were truncated by this group of egocentric politicians. I want to appeal to this people to please allow peace to reign and not create political crisis for Okun People which generations to come may not forgive. Moreover, let’s avoid any action or inaction that will be detrimental to fostering the unity, peace and progress of West and Central in particular, and the State at large.

“APC as a party is superior to any individual interest. Hon Abiodun Faleke no doubt has contributed much to the progress of the party and should be allowed to reap from the party’s dividends by accepting to serve the Okun people and the entire kogites in any capacity the party deems fit by humbly accepting the decision of the party to serve as the deputy governor of the state as this would be a great opportunity for us in Okun and particularly, the Ijumu people.

“I have spent a lot of money, and much more have been spent myself, to stabilize APC in Ijumu along with a few leaders before the arrival of Hon. Abiodun Faleke and would therefore be happy to have a Governor from my LGA.

“However, the party’s decision is supreme and must be respected by all. For this reason, I Hon Taufiq A. Isa, APC, Chairman, Ijumu LGA, hereby appeal to the entire Ijumu people to come out with me in appealing to our son to accept to serve by accepting the party’s decision for him to remain the Deputy Governor to the Governor-elect.
May I use this medium to on behalf of the Okun people congratulate Alh. Yahaya Bello as Governor-elect of Kogi state.

“In my capacity as the Okun coordinator of Alh. Yahaya Bello campaign organization and as the APC chairman of Ijumu LGA, I assure the party and the Governor-elect of Ijumu and Okun peoples’ support. LONG LIVE APC, LONG LIVE KOGI STATE, LONG LIVE NIGERIA,” he concluded.
