Fed Cup: 3SC were litmus test for Enyimba – Ugwu

Ugwu Uwadiegwu, the left full back of Enyimba International football club of Aba, has boasted that the team used Shooting Stars football club of Ibadan as an example of how they plan to play the rest of this season.

The Aba millionaires were in devastating form on Wednesday, as they out-thought and out-fought the lethargic Ibadan side on the way to a 3-1 victory.

Now, the defender insists they will continue playing like that the rest of the year.

“We wanted to lay a marker with Shooting Stars as to our new level of confidence, and we also wanted to show that result in Aba was a fluke,” Uwadiegwu said.

A few weeks back, the Oluyole Warriors played Enyimba to a standstill in Aba, and were unfortunate to lose the Premier League game by a penalty goal, with many questioning the decision to award the kick.

“The debate over our win was painful, we knew we were deserving winners, but we put that behind us, and showed what we can do.”

Enyimba have now gone unbeaten in six games, including three wins out of four straight in the Premier League.
