Federation Cup: “Nasarawa United can surprise Enyimba” – Danladi

Chairman of Nasarawa United, Issac Danlado has predicted a tough match between his side and Enyimba FC in the 2013 Federation Cup quarter final in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

The Miners earned a double victory fellow topflight counterparts, Sunshine Stars of Akure 2-1 in the round of 16 in Lokoja to qualify for the quarter final.

Danladi told that his side are well motivated and prepared for the match.

“We thank God for what we’ve been able to achieve so far. Federation Cup is a traditional competition which every club will want to win.

“The boys have been separated from the men now. So, all the teams at this stage are capable of winning the trophy now.

“The game against Enyimba is going to be a fantastic and explosive match because it is a match between two league clubs,” said Danladi.

“We won’t underrate Enyimba. We respect them because they won the competition before. We are not going into the match as underdogs because we are all playing top flight football.”

Danladi said the government is giving overwhelming support to players and officials in term of moral and financial support.

“What else do we still need to do for them? We are talking their salaries and winning bonuses as at when due. We accommodated them in the best hotel whenever we travel for matches.”

“The Governor Al-Makura led government has been doing it part by supporting the team financially and morally which has a long way to assist the club to reach this level we here. It is now down on the players to go there on Wednesday and deliver. We want to beat Enyimba and go all the way to the final,” the Nasarawa State born football administrator said.
