FG declares Monday, May 1 public holiday as Workers’ day

To commemorate this year’s Workers Day, Monday, May 1, has been declared a public holiday.

Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior, made the announcement on Friday.

Nigerians celebrated Eid-el-Fitr just a week ago.

Aregbesola applauded Nigerian employees for their hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Shuaib Belgore, on Friday.

He went on to say that employees’ efforts are primarily responsible for the country’s grandeur and the respect Nigeria today commands in the community of countries.

“There is dignity in labor; we must be dedicated and committed to the work we do because it is critical to nation-building,” he said.
