The Nigeria U-20 women national team, Flaconets and the U-17 national team, Flamingoes played out a thrilling 1-1 draw in a friendly match on Saturday in Abuja.
The Flamingoes’ hopes for victory was shattered when Chidinma Edeji’s second half equalizer for the Flaconets cancelled out their early lead which was scored by the team’s captain, Tessy Biawho at the FIFA Goal Project Centre in Abuja.
The determined country’s junior women cadet side “The Flamingoes” which aimed for an upset proved too strong to crack for their superior women national team after holding them out for most period of the game.
Former Confluence Queens and Delta Queens’ attacker Tessy Biawho fired the Flamingoes in the 29th minute and ended the first half in front.
The Flaconets resumed the second half with great desperation to avoid an upset and were rewarded with a solo heart-warming equalizer fifteen minutes into the 2nd half from an enterprising Bayelsa Queens forward Chidinma Edeji.
