Flying Eagles arrive Cascablanca for Morocco Friendly

Golden eagletsNigeria’s Flying Eagles have arrived Morocco on Sunday ahead of their two-legged International friendly matches with the Junior Atlas Lions in Cascablanca on April 9 and 11.

The team’s coach, Manu Garba, who confirmed the arrival via text message, said Nigeria’s U20 contingents departed the country from Lagos on a Air Morac airline by early morning of Sunday at about 7am and landed in the country’s largest city about 12pm.

Manu Garba left the country with a 20-player squad for the two tune-up matches in Morocco this week as they bid to intensify preparations for the 2015 African Youth Championship qualifiers.

It would be recalled that the Garba Manu side thanks to the combine brilliance of Taiwo Awoniyi and Alhassan Ibrahim record ed a massive 12-0 victory against Nigeria Nationwide league side Lugbe United 12-0 in a friendly game played in Abuja last Thursday.

Friendly’s opponents, Morocco who will host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations also intends to use the two-legged games to access their readiness for the next round qualifiers test after drawn bye in the first round.

The West African’s U20 team largely made up of 2013 U17 World Cup winning Golden Eaglets will face either Kenya or Tanzania in their final round for the 2015 African Youth Championship qualifiers in May.
