Former Taekwondo star aims to represent Nigeria in Handball after league exploits

Former Taekwondo star Joyce Mafwil is in love with the sport of handball and has revealed her dreams the country at the senior level following her exploits with Plateau Peacocks in the Prudent Energy Handball League.

Mafwil represented Nigeria in Taekwondo at the 2011 All African Games in Maputo before turning a taekwondo coach and recently started up her career in the game of Handball.

Having impressed for the Jos based side in their league campaign, she is now eager to help the nation to international glory in the game of Handball.

“I have competed for Nigeria in the Taekwondo event at 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo and several other championships and I am now ready to feature in handball,” she started.

“I did not play in any age grade handball tournaments for Nigeria but I believe I still have what it takes to represent Nigeria in handball.

“I am ready to contribute my own quota. I understand that there are many players in Nigeria and I’m ready to prove myself in any trials,” the central defender said.

“My mission is not just to wear the colours of Nigeria at international tournaments but to win laurels. I have faith in the mission and I hope my heart desires get granted.”
